Letter From The President, Tony Keith
I want to start off by saying that I am honored by the response that we in starting our Mantrailing Academy. I am certain with the outstanding quality of the Members combined with the work ethic and expertise of our Trainers, Master Trainers and Sponsors that we will promote techniques and education that will lead the successful recovery of lost or missing people. That in my opinion is our ultimate goal and one that we share equally. We have a very good response to our first, upcoming Academy in June 2009. We have secured the beautiful camp Na Wa Kwa, so that we could provide the lodging for our participants in an atmosphere that will be very beneficial to their training. We intend to evaluate each team’s strengths and weaknesses and spend very little time in the classroom, and much time "On the Trail".
I cannot thank the charter members enough because you are who started this Academy. Skylar Lyon our Director of Marketing and Membership has send about a million e-mails and knocked on about a half million doors, and Paul Baty our Administrative Assistant / Webmaster has done a sensational job on our website. The Merchandise Section seems to be a big hit. I would like very much for you to share your pictures and stories with us.
We have training that is beneficial to team members without dogs as well, we will be holding classes in Land Navigation, Emergency K-9 First Aid, Air Evacuation and Setting up a hasty LZ, Team Building, and we will also offer night trailing to the participants that want it.
While attending our academy we are at your service. However I want everyone to know that my Motto is “KEEP IT REAL" What that means is simply that we are going to keep things real. Our training will be real, Our camp while very nice will be real, Our instructors will be real, and our results will likewise be real. That’s why when you certify you can be assured that it is real.
I have been at seminars where participants complained about not having enough flavored creamers for their coffee, or the high-speed internet was slow. I have also seen participants sign in on Monday and then disappear until the final day just to get a certificate. So I just want you to know that at the American Mantrailing Academy, I truly understand that you are paying hard earned dollars for training. It is my responsibility to ensure that you benefit from it. I as well as my instructors will do everything humanly possible to provide you with what you need to succeed. We will do everything humanly possible to make your stay a very enjoyable experience. So bring a positive attitude, leave the kid gloves at home, everything you get will be earned not issued.
Today 5/02/09 we had out first free to the community training in Cloverdale, Indiana. Present were Master Trainer Dave Wheeler, Trainer Skylar Lyon, Trainer Brian Webster, Penny Acton with K-9 Betty Boop (bloodhound) from Martinsville, Indiana and myself. The morning was beautiful and we set two different trails for Betty Boop, she did a very good job and Dave gave Penny and Betty Boop some homework. I was very pleased with the dedication of everyone that attended and I feel it was beneficial to all.
Feel free to share your ideas or concerns with us, as your input is very important to us at AMERICAN MANTRAILING ACADEMY.
We only have a few spots open in out June Academy so sign up today.
